Notre histoire
Fondé en 2006 par les propriétaires Alicia et Yvan, le Vignoble Sugar Hill, situé au Lac- Brome en Estrie, se consacre à l’élaboration de vins biologiques de grande qualité, authentiques et empreints de passion. En 2018, nous avons entrepris des démarches de transition afin de devenir un vignoble biologique. Nous avons fièrement obtenu notre certification biologique 2021 auprès d’Écocert. Sur ses sept hectares, le vignoble produit des vins à partir de plusieurs cépages; Chardonnay, Frontenac Blanc, Saint Pépin, Vidal, Seyval, Marquette, Frontenac Noir, Cabernet Franc, Petite-Perle, Pinot noir, Radisson et tout récemment le Nebbiolo. L’origine du nom, Sugar Hill, provient de la grange centenaire qui se retrouve sur le domaine, Sugar Hill Farms, ainsi que le nom du chemin adjacent au vignoble. Nous avons conservé le nom en lui donnant une nouvelle vocation.
Le vignoble se distingue notamment par un vieillissement long et attentionné de ses cuvées en fûts de chêne français, en amphores, et même en bouteilles. Notre mission est de permettre d’amener chaque cépage au meilleur de leur expression. D’ailleurs, le vignoble a mis en marché La Grande Cuvée Pelechacz 2013, son réputé mousseux extra-brut, et plus récemment, La Cuvée Exceptionnelle Pelechacz 2011, un mousseux extra-brut nature Plusieurs cuvées ont été récompensées lors de compétitions de vins nationales et internationales, telles que La Coupe des Nations, Sélections Mondiales et London Wine Competition.
Our story
Founded in 2006 by owners Alicia and Yvan, Vignoble Sugar Hill, located in Lac- Brome in the Eastern Townships, is dedicated to producing high-quality, authentic organic wines imbued with passion. In 2018, we began the transition process to become an organic vineyard. We proudly obtained our organic certification in 2021 from Écocert. On its seven hectares, the vineyard produces wines from several grape varieties; Chardonnay, Frontenac Blanc, Saint Pépin, Vidal, Seyval, Marquette, Frontenac Noir, Cabernet Franc, Petite-Perle, Pinot noir, Radisson and most recently Nebbiolo. The origin of the name, Sugar Hill, comes from the century-old barn on the estate, Sugar Hill Farms, as well as the name of the road adjacent to the vineyard. We kept the name and given it a new vocation.
The vineyard's distinguishing feature is the long, careful aging of its vintages in French oak barrels, amphorae and even bottles. Our mission is to bring out the best in each grape variety. In fact, the winery has released La Grande Cuvée Pelechacz 2013, its renowned extra-brut sparkling wine, and more recently, La Cuvée Exceptionnelle Pelechacz 2011, an extra-brut nature sparkling wine. Several cuvées have won awards at national and international wine competitions, such as La Coupe des Nations, Sélections Mondiales and London Wine Competition.
